A good TV player should make the remote feel simple: open your favourites, see what is on and get back to your programme without hunting through menus. TiviMate is worth considering if that is how you want to watch on Android TV.
This guide explains its documented features and gives you a practical setup checklist. It is not a hands-on performance review.
What is TiviMate, and which devices suit it?
TiviMate is a playlist player from Armobsoft FZE. Its Google Play listing describes an interface designed for Android TV and remote controls, rather than touchscreens. It supports M3U, Xtream Codes and Stalker Portal playlists. You supply the content separately.
Start by checking your device’s operating system. A television described as “smart” does not necessarily run Android TV. If you are choosing new hardware, our IPTV box buying checklist covers the questions to ask first.
Features to look at before paying
The developer lists a programme guide, multiple playlists, favourites, search, parental controls, recording, catch-up and multiview. Check the current purchase screen for which features require an upgrade and what that upgrade costs in your region. Premium unlocks app features, not channels.
Choose around your routine. If you mostly watch a handful of channels, readable guide text and quick access to favourites may matter more than a long feature list. For a shared television, test whether someone else can find a programme without being shown every button.
A sensible first setup
- Find the app through TiviMate’s website or its verified store listing. Check the developer before installing.
- Have your authorised playlist details ready. Match the login method to the information your provider supplied; a playlist URL and a portal address are not interchangeable.
- Add the playlist using the matching option shown in your version of the app. Enter addresses carefully, including any port number.
- Let the initial import finish. Test a few channels before changing several settings at once.
- Check the programme guide and save a small group of favourites. Then close and reopen the app to see whether everyday access feels straightforward.
Channels load, but something is wrong
A blank guide: confirm that your source includes programme data and that any separate guide address is correct. Refreshing a playlist cannot create schedule data that the source does not supply.
Playback stops: compare several channels and check whether another device is using the same account. A connection allowance can matter when testing multiple streams. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped.
Recording or catch-up disappoints: test the specific feature before relying on it for an important programme. Check the source’s catch-up availability, your device’s storage and any connection requirements.
Common questions
Does buying TiviMate include an IPTV subscription?
No. Keep your player purchase and content subscription separate when working out the total cost.
Should I buy Premium immediately?
First confirm compatibility and basic playback, then decide whether the available paid features solve a problem you actually have.
